This entry is the first of many to come of products I would recommend for users to purchase from Amazon. I currently have one of the 5GB Seagate USB External Drives and absolutely love it.

The link below directs you to Amazon.com where you can purchase the item:

Some of you that work with me on a regular basis probably have been around when I moan and groan about power cords. I really HATE power cords. They are such an eye-sore and really make things difficult to route. So I've always talked about how I want to invent "Wireless Power".

Well earlier this week one of my colleagues sent me an e-mail with this link (link: http://mytreo.net/archives/2007/02/wild-charger-does-charge-wirelessly-really.html). It appears that someone has beat me to the punch on this one! Now not that I would actually be able to physically implement something like this but the idea was already there!

WE DID IT!!! Chris and I bought a van yesterday!! I NEVER thought I would be so excited to drive a mini van! But it’s so nice, and SO much better than my car. We test drove vans about 2 months ago. First we looked at Chrysler, and then we looked at the Honda Odyssey. For the longest time I had my mind set on the Odyssey, but after driving both of them, I really didn’t mind having one or the other. And since we travel so much this is will give us plenty of room.

So last weekend we found that Dodge was offering 0% financing for 72 months with payments delayed until March of 2007. As you can see, we decided this was too good to pass up. So this last Tuesday evening we headed over to Westgate in Plainfield to check out the vans they had in stock. We pulled in at 6:03 ready to deal. The guy met us at the door to tell us they closed at 6:00. OF COURSE. The guy was nice enough to answer a few questions and he also walked us over to the ’06 Dodge Caravans. We picked out one that was “Magnesium Pearl.”

So on Wednesday we headed back to Westgate and talked to Bob. Bob was a great guy and expertly answered all of our questions. (Thanks Bob!) And you can imagine we had plenty! He gave us the keys to test drive the van and we headed over to the van…only to find out that it was not keyless entry. Bummer. That is something we really wanted but we went ahead and drove it around. When we pulled back in to Westgate Bob met us at the door with 2 more sets of keys. He found 2 vans that were just what we wanted and had keyless entry. We just had to pick the color! Our choices were Linen Gold or Silver. We checked them both out and finally decided on the silver van. So we went home that night empty handed – but not to worry…

First thing on Thursday morning Chris was on the phone about insurance. We just had to get a few more questions answered before signing all those papers. They were just the answers we needed and Chris went and picked up the van around 2:00 yesterday afternoon. It was waiting for me in the driveway when I got off of work!!! So of course we had to drive it around yesterday evening to show everyone! We picked Nolan up from school and then headed over to show Norma. We took her for a drive around the block and Chris showed her the Stow n’ Go – which I forgot to mention. Tom came over later and Chris took him for a ride as well.

Nolan also had soccer practice yesterday evening. This was so much fun…we backed the van up to the grass, pulled the back seats down and we ‘tailgated!’ I am an official “Soccer Mom” now! :D

Tonight Marti gets to ride in it for the first time. We are driving it to the Haute to show my family. A bit of a sad note; I am taking my car back home to my dad. This will be my last trip in the ol’ beast. Apple Pie (as Nolan calls it) has been good to me over the last 7 – almost 8 years, but tonight I will make my ‘farewell’ drive to the Haute in my car (tear).

By the way, the van’s name is Bullet. ;)
