So I’ve finally decided to become a Demonstrator with Stampin’ Up! What is a Demonstrator? It’s basically an independent consultant with the best Stamping/Scrapbooking Company. I’ve been ordering from Stampin Up! for close to 2 years now (You should see my collection)! So I finally decided that I could really benefit from selling Stampin’ Up! products.

It works just like your normal candle/Tupperware or Pampered Chef parties. When an individual likes the products enough and decides they want to have their own party; they sign up as a hostess. The hostess opens her home for me, the demonstrator, and as many friends that she would like to invite. I provide a make and take project for all the guests to make and take home (that’s why they call it a “Make & Take”) and also have games and door prizes for guests to win. The hostess of the party gets many benefits, including the projects I make at the party and free merchandise – dollar amount depends on how large the party is. A hostess can also choose to have a “Silent” party.

My family and I are a bunch of scrappin’ fools…so much that we meet once a month to stamp, scrapbook, eat and order new products! It’s a lot of fun!

I normally hate Mondays. It’s just a rude way to end a nice weekend. However, I got up early yesterday morning and showered. I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast – at home! No, not on the way out the door, not in the car, and NOT at my desk at work. (Not that I would eat cereal in the car. My breakfasts normally consist of a cereal bar) I actually sat at the kitchen table and was able to enjoy it – and actually taste it. I had time to check my email, the weather and the news all before I had to leave for the day (Also very rare).

I kissed my boys goodbye (including Marti) and headed out the door. When I looked at the clock it was 7:06! I have to be at work at 7:30 so I would actually arrive a few minutes early. (Which means leaving a few minutes early!) So I started my day – excited that everything was going so well….

Now, the way I’ve set this up - you are probably guessing that this nice story is going to turn into something tragic. WRONG! It’s about to get better :)

Now most of you who read this blog probably know me pretty well. And if you know me pretty well then you should know that I am a big fan of scrapbooking. (So much that we have Stampin’ Up! parties once a month. You should come – they are exciting!) Anyway, I am fortunate enough to have a scrapbook store located 10 minutes away from our house, called Scrapbook Xanadu. Last week they celebrated the “End of Summer” with a 12 x 12 page contest about summer. So I thought (hmmmm) I might enter a page into the contest. This could be fun!

I decided to scrap a page of little Miss Ava Marie. One afternoon we took the kids to the lake and went fishing (I cheated; this actually took place last summer!) If you look at the image galleries on the blog you may have seen this picture already. Gary told Ava to kiss the fish so of course she did it! I snapped the photo just at the right time to capture Ava planting a big kiss on the head of this little fish!

So anyway…back to my MONDAY. I decided to check my email account from home later on in the afternoon. There it was … an email from Scrapbook Xanadu! I thought, “COOL, Now I can see who the winners are!” I opened the email that said “Congratulations to all of our winners! And a big thank you to all of those who participated in the contest!” So I scrolled down through the email to see who had won and there was my name! In FIRST PLACE!!!! I was so excited!!!! I had to call everyone and tell them! I won!! I felt like I won a million dollars the way I was carrying on! :) So I won a baby boy album kit and a $10 gift card at Xanadu!

The cool thing is I just received another $5 gift card from the Xanadu in Greenwood. They had another contest there to become a design team member. I didn’t make it for that one, but they still gave me a gift card. How nice of them :)

So now my big problem is trying to decide what to buy with my $15 at Xanadu!

Just a note: This morning I did not wake up early. I left the house at 7:21, and I had a pop-tart at my desk :)
