Greetings Vacation Blog Readers! Yesterday (6.27) we were able to get up early and have our tastey breakfast again. Chris was happy because he got his scrambled eggs. After breakfast we packed up our things and headed to the Aquarium. We were lucky enough to see a few sea lions do some tricks for us. Of course you will probably see some pictures soon.

After the Aquarium I, Chef Denise, made some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the car. (Thank you Hampton Inn for providing the Smuckers!) We then headed toward Middletown, New York where we stayed at the Ho-Jo. And oh my we had a science experiment in our bathroom! I don’t even want to know what was in the shower but it was pretty scary. Hopefully that was the last booty hotel for this trip.

I must mention that I am currently typing in the car. This is to be posted at a later time today. But I, Chef Denise aka Navigator Denise, just told Chris to take a wrong turn. We wanted to take a major interstate North-bound. But I goofed and told him to go South. Made sense to me…Harrisburg is South from the direction we are now…anywho :)

Today we did not get to enjoy a nice breakfast at the Ho-Jo because they did NOT have one. We walked over to Perkins where I had a ham, cheese and grease omelet. Nolan had all sorts of pancakes with syrup. His shorts enjoyed the same meal as well.

This afternoon we went to the Orange County Choppers Shop. When Chris and I went on our Honeymoon we were fortunate enough to see Paul Jr. from American Chopper. We had a shirt autographed for Nolan and also had our picture taken with him This time, however we didn’t get to see anyone from the show. One of the guys rode off on a chopper, but we were unable to see who it was.

The OCC retail store and showroom is just down the road from the shop. (Olivia, if you are reading this do not read any further or you will ruin the surprise from your brother!)
They had quite a few of their bikes displayed that they have made on their shows. We took quite a few pictures and also did some shopping. We bought some shirts, a Frisbee, and Nolan bought a Creeper, booties and a hat set for his sister.

We’ve got about 100 miles until we get to the Hampton Inn in Harrisburg, PA. I called ahead to see if they had any problems with flooding. I am sure you’ve all heard about the crazy flooding out here. The only problem that the Hampton is running into is drinking water. We can’t drink it, but we can bathe in it! YAY! And it’s probably still more sanitary than the Ho-Jo!

Our initial route to Harrisburg had a few interstate closures so we had to find a different one. Hopefully they won’t have any problems in Hershey! Keep your fingers crossed!

Well we made it back! This morning we got up early for an "Oh so tastey" breakfast here at the Hampton. Chris has said about 4 times today how GREAT the scrambled eggs are here. Hopefully they have them again tomorrow or I'm afraid we will have one unhappy camper. After breakfast we were a little bummed because all the weather reports called for rain/thunderstorms all afternoon. We looked outside and thought maybe we could brave the weather and went ahead and walked over to Canada.

And I am glad we did! We were able to get a lot of souvenir shopping done and also had one of those bar scene photos taken. Chris and Nolan robbed a bank while I sat on the bar in my "hussy" dress and smoked a cigarette...I know-it was so like the real us. It was still early so we thought we had better get moving before the rain hit. We took the elevator to the top of the Skylon tower to get a different, wonderful view of the Falls from Canada. It was a great experience and I am going to nag Chris until he posts one of the photos-or two. The trip to the top was a bit pricey, but I think it was well worth it!!

The only rain we saw by lunchtime was inside the Rain Forest Cafe. Every 22 minutes a thunderstorm happens in the restaurant. You really feel like you are in the rain forest with all of the plants and the big elephants and gorillas that move and make noise. Chris and I ate there last year on our honeymoon and thought Nolan would really enjoy it...Of course I was right...He kept getting up to look at the shark tanks and picked out all the animals hidden the forest walls.

Finally Chris HAD to make a stop by the Casino and gamble before we left...
Just kidding...but he did go into the Casino to get a few Canada bills for Nolan right before we headed back to the US. And they let us back in! Just so you know...if you are carrying more than $10,000 in currency on your way back to the US they have to report it. It's a good thing we only had $9,000. (HA!)

Back in the US, it was time for the "Maid of the Mist." Chris and I didn't go on the boat when we were here for our honeymoon...but thought we should try out the adventure with Nolan this time. It's about a 20 minute boat ride...and yeah you get really close to the Falls. And yeah...you DO get WET. They supply the ponchos for you...but I don't think Nolan knew how to wear his...Almost his entire shirt was soaking wet, part of his shorts and his hair got soaked as well. But it was fun-and now we are nice and dry and inside of our hotel room. And it didn't rain until we were headed back to the hotel. It's a good thing the pool is inside because we were able to relax in the spa after our long day of walking.

It's about dark now as we are winding down on our final night in the Falls. We are going to take one last walk to see the Falls lit up. Nolan hasn't been able to see that yet and we don't want him to miss it. Tomorrow morning we are headed for Middletown, NY to visit OCC. Check back tomorrow night for updates!

Later, Eh!

This will be a fairly short post as the one prior was as well. It is currently 11:33PM and I am the only one still awake in the room. Anyway, we made it safely to Niagara Falls, NY this afternoon around 5PM. This was after only a couple of short stops here and there and on "long" stop at a Hobby Lobby somewhere in the middle of New York. Hey, bargains could be anywhere you know :-).

Anyway, we had a great drive ... some cool scenery. A little bit of rain here and there, but on the whole it wasn't bad. Once we arrived in Niagara Falls we checked into our hotel (the Hampton Inn at the Falls). This happens to be the hotel that Denise and I stayed at on our honeymoon. We absolutely loved the hotel because of it's access to the falls, great breakfast, and generally the "cleanliness". After checking in we took a stroll down to the falls and had Nolan experience it for the first time ... it is an awesome experience. I think he really enjoyed it.

We finished up the stroll with a nice dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe on the USA side and finished the evening off with a swim in the pool. Lots of things planned for tomorrow. Everybody keep your fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate with us.
